Candle Use
Setting Up Your Candle
- Unseal and remove the cork. The cork can
be easily removed with a cork screw and any wax seal
remaining can be wiped off with a damp soapy cloth.
- Insert the stopper/wick assembly.
- The wick may need to be
adjusted to approximately 1/4 inch above the stopper.
Flame height should be approximately 1 inch. Too much
wick leads to excessive flame height. Upon lighting,
allow a couple of minutes for the flame to achieve a
consistent height. If flame is excessive, allow
the stopper to cool and adjust wick to no more
than 1/4 inch above the stopper.
- Before lighting, allow at
least 5 minutes for the wick to absorb the oil.
- If you choose, aromatherapy oils can be
added to the depression in the top of the stopper.
About the Wick and Oil
- Used properly, the fiberglass wick should
last indefinitely, for it is the oil rather than the wick
that burns. The key is to never allow the oil level to
drop below the bottom of the wick.
- Your candle is filled with smokeless and
odorless Ultra-Pure® Lamp Oil (99% liquid paraffin),
refill bottles can be purchased at most variety and craft
stores.
Candle Safety
Careful responsible use of your candle can
prevent injury and property damage. Please keep in mind the
following precautions.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles away from children
& pets.
- Never burn a candle on or near anything
that can catch fire.
- Always place candle on a steady surface.
- If the flame is too tall, adjust the wick
height to approximately 1/8 inch above the stopper.
- Place your candle in an area that is free
from drafts to prevent flickering and smoking.
- Do not touch the top of
the candle after it has been burning. The wick assembly
gets very hot.
- DANGER: Lamp oil is harmful or fatal if
swallowed. Do not induce vomiting if
swallowed. Call a physician immediately. Avoid contact
with eyes.
- COMBUSTIBLE. Do not store near heat or
open flame. Flammable at temperatures higher than 159° F.
(70° C.).
